Website Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice explains how Cerridwen LLC ("Cerridwen," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with our website at www.cerridwen.io (the "Site"). It covers the Site only.

1. The Short Version

We built the Site to tell people about Cerridwen, not to collect information about them. The Site has no user accounts, no cookies, and no advertising or cross-site tracking tools. We use a simple contact form and privacy-focused, cookieless analytics that show us how the Site is used and how well it performs. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

2. Information We Collect

Information you send us. If you choose to contact us, through the contact form on the Site or by email, we receive the information you include, such as your name, email address, organization, and the content of your message.

Technical information collected by our hosting provider. Like nearly all websites, the Site is served by a third-party hosting provider whose servers automatically record basic technical information when a browser requests a page. This may include your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages requested, and the date and time of the request. We do not use this information to identify you, build a profile of you, or follow your activity across other websites.

Analytics and performance information. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, provided by Vercel Inc., to understand how many people visit the Site, which pages they view, and how quickly pages load. These tools record information such as the page visited, the referring site, approximate location (country, and for analytics, region and city), browser, operating system, device type, network connection speed, and page performance measurements. They do not use cookies, and they do not identify you or follow you across other websites. To count visits without a cookie, Vercel Web Analytics uses a temporary identifier derived from the incoming request, which is discarded after 24 hours. We see only aggregated statistics.

Cookies and tracking technologies. We do not use cookies, pixels, web beacons, advertising or cross-site analytics tools (such as Google Analytics), or similar technologies on the Site to track visitors. If that changes, we will update this Privacy Notice before we start.

3. How We Use Information

We use information you send us to read and respond to your message, to keep a record of our correspondence, and for the purpose for which you provided it.

Our hosting provider uses technical information to deliver the Site, keep it secure and available, and detect and prevent abuse, fraud, impersonation, and attacks. We may review that information for the same purposes.

We use analytics and performance information, in aggregated form, to understand how the Site is used, fix problems, and improve its content, design, and speed.

We may also use or disclose information when we believe it is necessary to comply with law or legal process, to enforce our Website Terms of Use, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Cerridwen, our users, or others.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share it only with:

(a) service providers that help us operate the Site and our business, such as our website hosting provider, our analytics provider (Vercel), our email provider (Google), and any service that processes our contact form submissions, who may use it only to provide services to us;

(b) legal and safety recipients, such as courts, law enforcement, or government authorities, when we believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, property, or safety, including to investigate impersonation or misuse of our name or Site; and

(c) a successor or acquirer in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to this Privacy Notice or a notice at least as protective.

5. Do Not Track and Third-Party Tracking

Because we do not collect information about your online activities over time and across third-party websites, the Site does not change its behavior in response to browser "Do Not Track" signals or similar mechanisms.

We do not permit other parties to collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use the Site.

6. Links to Other Sites

The Site links to third-party sites, such as GitHub and LinkedIn. When you follow those links, the third party's own privacy practices apply. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

7. How Long We Keep Information

We keep correspondence for as long as needed to respond to you and to maintain reasonable business records, and then delete it. Technical logs, analytics, and performance data are retained by our hosting and analytics providers under their standard retention practices.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures, appropriate to our size and the limited information we hold, to protect information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. No website or transmission over the internet is completely secure.

9. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Your Choices and Rights

You can choose not to send us any information. You can browse the Site without providing anything other than the technical information that any website receives and the aggregated analytics and performance information described above. You can also limit analytics collection by using browser settings or extensions that block scripts.

If you have sent us information, you may ask us to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by contacting us at the address below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, such as the right to object to or restrict certain uses, or to complain to your local data protection authority. We will respond to requests as required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for making one.

11. International Visitors

Cerridwen is based in the United States, and the Site is hosted in the United States. If you visit from another country, the information described in this Privacy Notice will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Where local law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on our legitimate interests in responding to you and operating, securing, and improving the Site, or on your consent when you choose to contact us.

12. Changes to This Privacy Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on the Site and change the effective date below. If we make a material change, such as adding cookies or cross-site tracking, we will update this Privacy Notice before the change takes effect.
